About me

I am an empathic, holistic , congruent, non- judgemental, trauma informed counsellor with specialities in drug and alcohol, anxiety, depression, stress management, grief and loss, interpersonal conflicts, ptsd, chronic illness, ostomates, invisible disability and trauma.

I have extensive experience in the community and non government sector with marginalised, disadvantaged, at risk’ youth and adults with dual diagnosis, complex needs and trauma and forensic backgrounds. I have also worked with many people living with a stoma, invisible disability and chronic illness and am very passionate about supporting and advocating for anyone who may feel stuck, let down by the broader service system, designed to support yet is often under resourced and lacking trauma informed approaches.I value diversity and have strengths in engaging with a diverse range of people, building strong therapeutic relationships and I am committed to achieving the best outcomes for all my clients. I am very passionate about supporting an individual on a micro level as well as being able to examine and explore the broader environmental, social,
cultural and political constructs and systems that underpin or inhibit an individuals worldview. In addition, I am very passionate about supporting positive behavioural and cognitive change that my clients may seek.
I have assisted many people to manage and minimise intrusive, unhelpful thoughts, feelings and behaviours that often lead to harmful coping strategies , emotional dysregulation,
drug and alcohol misuse and mental health issues. I am comfortable and experienced in both harm minimisation and abstinent based approaches for drug and alcohol and am always guided by my clients as the experts.

I am trained in a range of evidence based counselling techniques and interventions and critical social work theories and practices, with particular interest and skills in client centred, compassionate based, solution focused, strengths based, motivational interviewing, crisis, acceptance and commitment therapy, trauma informed practices and mindfulness.

In my personal time I enjoy practicing power vinyasa yoga, nature, creativity and spending quality time with family and friends.
